(MEDIA RELEASE—HONOLULU, Hawai’i)—Tattoos. Fashion. Music. Culture. That’s the INKED Island Fashion Show in a nutshell and many who were part of INKED 2 held Dec. 1 at The Westin San Diego are saying great things about it.
Tatau Brand Clothing Company, major sponsors of INKED San Diego say they were “humbled by the opportunity to have sponsored such an amazing event” in their hometown of San Diego, Calif., U.S.A.
“It was a pleasure to be at the 2012 INKED Island Fashion Show in San Diego,” Tatau Brand said in a statement. “It is without question that Ronnie Russell and the INKED staff encompasses the true meaning of aloha. The energy and the ‘One Love’ vibe that the entire INKED staff brought to San Diego was incredible!”
FobbNation N’tertainment Chief Executive Officer Pati Eneliko, who drove from Long Beach with some of his FobbNation crew, called INKED a “success.”
“To me, in my eyes, it was a success and the reason is because it was different, out of the norm and definitely something we needed out here,” said Eneliko. “Anything to bring our people together… ink and fashion…it takes our people to the next level. It was cool, everything was good. If we don’t support our people – who will?”
Kentucky native Ryan Montgomery, who runs www.thephotobus.com, donated his time and talents to capturing footage and creating the official INKED video released today, Christmas Day. He’s never seen anything like INKED before.
“It was pretty cool. It was a mix, casual to high end and it was fun!” said Montgomery, a data warehouse architect who lives in San Diego. “It’s cool to see non-traditional models in a runway show and to see some of the culture.”
Los Angeles resident Jes Sophia Valle, chief executive officer at Health Bloggers, drove to San Diego for the show.
“It's was so diverse it calls for a third round!” said Valle. “Great music and most of all, amazing people!”
Tatau says the collaborative efforts of their company, 808ink Tattoo Magazine and INKED “will forever change the Polynesian Movement.”
“This is only the beginning of many combined efforts of our companies to share our cultures with many cities worldwide. Thank you Ronnie and the INKED staff for your hard work and entrusting the Tatau Brand Clothing Company to be your title sponsor!”
